MSF Superbikes: Pirelli Will Continue As Official Tyre Supplier Through 2020

MSF Superbikes welcomes Pirelli again for their National race event, now on their second year as the official tyre partner for MSF Superbikes. MSF has seen over 100 racers on MSF Superbikes throughout 2019 benefitting from the support that has been given by Pirelli, who will continue to provide their race support and technical know-how on the race tyres for MSF Superbikes. The latest tyre variant Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V3 will be the tyre for MSF Superbikes 2020, which was produced from constant development work and is the same tyre that is used by the FIM Superbike World Championship.

MSF Superbikes will use the  Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V3 soft compound version known as the SC1. Hence the popular SC1V3 nickname (V3 being the version, and SC1 being a soft compound code). MSF Superbikes racers were the very first batch of riders in Asia test out the new tyre in the heat of battle, as Pirelli wanted to prove that the racers will show a significant improvement on their lap times before it was made available to the public.

Feedback from MSF Superbikes racers describes the newly engineered tyre is a gamechanger, and many are looking forward to even better laptimes this year: expect greater and closer battles during this year’s MSF Superbikes races!

According to Mr Peh (Pirelli Representative) they are very pleased with the performance shown by last year’s racers, which provides a positive stimulus and support for local motorsports scene.

“We support the initiative by MSF Superbikes, providing a solid platform for newbies to challenge their skills on the race track and not on the road. As a reputable brand such as Pirelli, we are also honoured to have a partnership with MSF Superbikes in developing a proving ground for amateur racers to improve in a safe environment, with Pirelli of course,” acknowledged Mr Peh.

“In 2019, there were close to 100 new racers registered in to race in MSF Superbikes. We are hoping to grow that figures with a higher return rate and also to create more racers in a bid to make the racing closer, more than the MSF racers could ever dream of. By having the constant support from common industries such as Pirelli, we would hope to achieve that objective together when future comes,” said Mr Liew representative of MSF Superbike.
